Christian Bale cleared of assault charges

Christian Bale cleared of assault charges

Due to the lack of evidence, the actor Christian Bale will not be charged with the alleged assault on his mother and sister last month.  The British Crown Prosecution Service have stated that the police will not be taking any further actions towards this case as they didn’t want to push the matter.  Although such allegations are taken seriously there is not enough information to make a realistic conviction as he pleaded not guilty along with his family declining to comment on the issue as it was a personal matter.

The media stated that Christian Bale assaulted his mother and sister the day before the premier of his new movie “The Dark Knight” in the Dorchester Hotel on 20th July 2008.  This alleged accusation stated that it was his mother and sister that told the British police of his actions.  They then arrested Bale a day later so that he could attend the premier and was questioned for several hours at the police station before he was released on bail.

Bale stated through his spokeswoman after the trial that he is pleased this issue has been settled and he hopes to put this behind him, moving on with his life and will be providing no further comments about the situation.  He now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their younger daughter.

Christian Bale is a Wales-born actor who first hit the screen in 1987 with a major role in the film “Empire of the Sun” by Steven Spielberg.  He became notorious for his dark and sinister characters in films such as “American Psycho”, “Batman Begins” and “The Machinist”.

This time he is playing the main role of “The Dark Knight” as he plays the wealthy bachelor Bruce Wayne and his alter ego Batman.
