Lynne Spears blames herself for Britneys breakdown
Britney’s mum, Lynne Spears wrote a book about her life with her famous daughter called Through The Storm. However, she considered calling it It’s All My Fault, because she blames herself for Britney’s meltdown.
Lynne said, “When her life was such a success, what did she need me for? And when things took a turn for the worse, I was out, because other people – dancers, managers – were closer to her, and with her day and night. Being a mother, you can’t help but have regrets about what you did and didn’t do for your kids, and I’m no different.”
During Britney’s public meltdown she told her mother to stay out of her life and during that time, Britney lost custody of her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James and was ordered to submit to random testing for drugs and alcohol.
Lynne also worried that Britney might try to kill herself. She said, “Yes, I did worry that might happen. I couldn’t see Britney, and you worry more when you’re looking at things from a distance.”
Britney reached out to her mother again shortly after losing her boys and asked her for help, Lynne says this helped her feel more assured and Britney said not matter how bad life will be, she still enjoys her life too much to consider ending it.
Although her daughter lost custody, Lynne has only good things to say about Kevin Federline, Britney’s ex-husband and father of the boys.
“He’s has been real good with Britney, and doesn’t want to keep the kids from her at all.” Lynne says that Kevin allows Britney to see the boys “almost any time she wants.”
Lynne has also said she believes her daughter has finally recovered and has started to be happy again -
“I think Britney’s happy in most ways, she is very happy with her kids and ecstatic about work, but there’s something missing in her life. That gut belief she had in herself when she was so young – that’s what’s missing, and she’s got to get that back. She could set the world on fire in those days, and she knew exactly what she wanted.”
