Sting’s daughter rushed to hospital
Sting is “beside himself with worry” after his daughter was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury.
The singer and musician, alongside his wife Trudie Styler, rushed to the intensive care unit at a Los Angeles hospital where Coco Sumner was taking after fracturing her skull last week.
The incident occurred when Coco was out dining with a friend and complained of a headache. She stood up, stumbled and hit her head on a chair.
A source said, “Coco went flying and landed with a real crash. She really took a tumble. One of the waiters helped her to her feet but she complained that she didn’t feel well.
“The staff and Coco’s friend were very concerned and called for an ambulance and Coco was taken to hospital. No one was taking any chances as it was quite a scary fall. She hadn’t had anything to drink and it happened quite early into the evening.
“The doctors are still running tests. Obviously it is a serious injury and Coco is under constant surveillance.”
Sting, 57, who has two other children from a previous marriage, and three other kids with Trudie, was already in the US working on his latest album.
Trudie, 55, flew out from the UK immediately to be at her 18-daughters bedside.
A family friend told Britain’s Daily Mail Newspaper, “Trudie and Sting were obviously beside themselves with worry. It was a blessing that Sting was in the States at the time and was able to get to the hospital so quickly. Coco is still very shaken but she is planning to come back to the UK very soon.
“She is a real daddy’s girl and is very close to Sting. He keeps a close eye on her. When he received a call to say there had been an accident there was panic all round. He dropped everything he was doing and rushed straight to the hospital.”
A spokesperson said, Coco is “recovering well” from the incident.
