Guy Ritchie enjoyed a mystery date with a brunette on Sunday night. (31.05.09)

The British director-who has been romantically linked with Elle Macpherson and Jemima Khan since his split from his wife Madonna in November last year-dined at the Marmalade Cafe in Los Angeles before taking a stroll along the beach with the unnamed woman.

The ‘Snatch’ film maker appeared to be content and relaxed as he walked in his jeans and T-Shirt and a knit vest alongside his stunning companion, who was wearing a white maxi dress, cardigan and high-heeled shoes for the date.

Guy’s date with the mystery brunette fell on the same day Madonna was accompanied by her 22-year-old boyfriend Jesus Luz and sons Rocco, seven and David, three to the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic in New York.

Meanwhile a nude portrait of Madonna and Guy has failed to sell.

Created by acclaimed Scottish artist, Peter Howson in 2005 and titled, ‘Madonna and Guy,’ the painting was put up for sale by a private collector at auction in Glasgow but it failed to meet the £15,000 reserve price.

The artist has painted several pictures of the ‘Vogue’ singer in various states of undress.

Brian Clements, Director at McTear’s Auctioneers, said, “The auction was very successful, however, suprisingly, Peter Howson’s controversial piece of Madonna and Guy did not sell on the day.

“The painting is still for sale and we would be delighted to hear from anyone who is interested in this much talked about piece of Scottish art history.”

Madonna and Guy Ritchie have called a truce on their differences for Christmas and will spend it together at their country home in the UK. ??The 50-year-old singer, who has been touring in South America, will arrive in Britain on December 23 with their son Rocco, eight, adopted son David, three, and her daughter Lourdes.

The famous pair are still in a custody battle over where their children should be brought up, following the end of their marriage last month. The family will tuck into a traditional turkey dinner at Ashcombe House near Bournemouth at Guy’s insistence.

Madonna has accepted the invitation – and has asked that all of their Christmas dinner should be organic. Last year the family tucked into her choice of a macrobiotic Christmas dinner of steamed fish and vegetables. 

The couple have reached agreement on who should have what since the split, but differences remain over Rocco’s education. Guy wants his son educated in the UK, while Madonna would like him to live with her in New York.

Only one month after confirming their breakup, pop star Madonna and her soon-to-be ex-husband Guy Ritchie were granted a preliminary divorce in the High Court of London.

During a brief hearing which took place yesterday (friday) which neither party attended, the judge issued a “decree nisi,” which represents the first step in a two-stage divorce procedure in the United Kingdom. The preliminary divorce also goes by the name of “quickie” divorce because it becomes final in six weeks and one day if the decision is not challenged.

According to court documentation, the 50-year-old singer Madonna divorced the British filmmaker on grounds of “unreasonable behavior.”

Guy Ritchie will not claim a significant part of Madonna’s fortune, which is estimated to be around $450 million. In addition, Ritchie informed the press that he had never been after his wife’s money and that he “just wanted to settle it and move on.”

The former couple is also said to have reached an agreement with regard to the custody of their two children. They will reportedly share custody of their only biological child, 8-year-old Rocco and of their adopted son, 3-year-old David Banda. Consistent with reports, Lourdes, Madonna’s 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship with personal trainer Carlos Leon, will stay with her mother in the United States.

So we talked about her yesterday, and here we are again. This time Madonna is in the news because she has reportedly enlisted the abilities of Fiona Shackleton – the lawyer who represented Paul McCartney through his bitter divorce battle with crazed harpy Heather Mills – for her own divorce from husband Guy Ritchie.

A source close to the singer said Fiona is the natural choice for Madge: “Madonna always seeks out the best in whatever field she is interested in at any given time. Fiona Shackleton is the best.”

Madonna – who quite remarkably doesn’t have a pre-nup with Guy – has been hoping to resolve their differences but when she knew that marriages day was done, she sought legal advice.

One friend of the lawyer – who also represented Prince Charles in his divorce from Princess Diana – said: “Madonna was impressed by Fiona’s work for Sir Paul and the way she handles herself in the public eye. She is a consummate professional.”

Earlier this month Madonna had to deny rumours she was consulting Nicholas Mostyn QC – the lawyer who represented heather Mills.

Madonna, 49, and Guy, 39, have a seven-year-old son Rocco and an adopted son David, two. Madonna also has a daughter, 11-year-old Lourdes, from a previous relationship.
