Yes we all know what Simon Cowell’s ratings are as far as popularity is concerned and there surely are more than just a few people in the world who would like to say some harsh words to him. In fact even his hair doesn’t get him places, he was recently voted in a poll as having one of the top worst haircuts in Hollywood at the moment. In any case, some one has got to love him, right? Yeah there actually are several people who would swear by Simon Cowell’s profound remarks and as they would like to believe- blatant truths. Nonetheless, we have to take one person’s opinions into consideration; Ellen DeGeneres.

The two main reasons why Ellen’s views on Simon are important are that she is going to debut as the new judge of the latest American Idol Season and thus her opinions on her co-judges do matter and also because Ellen seems to be one of those celebrities who has no grudges and problems against any fellow celebrity in Hollywood. Ellen likes everyone, or so you would have thought.

Recently on Entertainment Tonight, Ellen was asked about her opinions on Simon Cowell her co-host and she was quick to remark that he was actually “meaner than I thought”. She went out to explain how she would be quite empathetic towards the people Simon would very simply gun down with some mean remark. Of course nothing less can be expected out of someone so nice! Also, there are actually rumors that are spreading about these two celebrity judges of American Idol and many claim that there have already been clashes between Simon and Ellen and that things are not calm between them

In fact recently apparently, there was a recording of the show’s episode that Simon was late for and he had kept the crew and the others waiting, nonetheless when he did turn up he made it a point to personally apologize to Ellen and she is said to have accepted the apology full heartedly without maintaining any grudges.

There is however a lot of debate about how fruitful putting Ellen DeGeneres as a judge on the show is even before her episodes have been aired, as many people seem to believe that she does not really have a clear cut and straightforward opinion on anybody and she would not be able to critique the contestants on the show. However, as it appears her opinions on Simon Cowell are pretty clear, even though she might not mean it in a way to offend him. However, we can now only wait and watch what the reaction of the rest of the country is regarding Ellen as a judge once her debut episode airs on television.

Simon Cowell keeps telling Paula Abdul he loves her.

Former American Idol judge Paula is feeling ‘disturbed’ after the 50 year-old music mogul repeatedly expressed his devotion.

She told FOX news, “I have talked to Simon. He misses me, and I know it. I talk to him a lot-he says he loves me and that is really disturbing me.”

Paula left the talent US TV talent show earlier this year after eight whole seasons judging the contestants. However, the former judge is struggling to come to terms with leaving the show.

The singer and choreographer, said, “I feel tremendously blessed to have made history with that show. I feel like I was a mamma-bear to cubs and I was there to protect them. I will miss that but I will be rooting on everyone.”

Paula has also denied recent reports that rivalry between her and fellow judge Kara DioGuardi is high, insisting they are so close and used to live together.

She explained, “I literally discovered Kara and believed in her. She lived with me and we became the best roommates, we never fought.”

Westlife’s Kian Egan married his former Hollyoaks actress fiancee Jodie Albert in a paradise wedding in Barbados at the weekend.

The celebrity couple flew over to the romantic resort a few weeks before the wedding to spend time with their close family and friends before the wedding nuptials.

The pair exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony on Turtle Beach surrounded by close family and friends, while being seranaded by a gospel choir playing ‘Love is in the Air’.

The couple were both dressed in white as were most of the guests who attended the ceremony at the Grand House Hotel.

However, the dream wedding was struck with sadness with Kian’s cancer-stricken father unable to attend the wedding after doctors advised him not to fly.

Despite his fathers absence, Kian was surrounded by his other family members, including his mother Patricia, brothers, Tom, Gavin and Colm, and sisters Marielle, Vivienne and Fenella.

Hollyoaks actresses Carly Stenson, who plays Steph Dean, and Ali Bastian who played Becca Dean on the Channel 4 soap joined their former co-star in celebrating her marriage to boyband singer, Kian.

After the ceremony, Kian, 29 and Jodie, 25 headed to the reception at an exclusive mansion used frequently by Simon Cowell when he holidays on the island.

Kian is set to perform with Westlife in Christchurch, New Zealand, was spotted enjoying surfing and taking romantic strolls on the beach with his bride to be.

Kian proposed to Jodie in December 2008, after the couple spent over four and a half years together.

Speaking out after the engagement, Kian said, “I am so over the moon that Jodie said yes and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her.”

Kian’s former bandmate, Brian McFadden is also due to wed Australian singer Delta Goodrem, after announcing their engagement and his divorce from his former wife, Kerry Katona.

Simon Cowell’s ex girlfriend has admitted that being with him is like having a “full-time job.”

Terri Seymour who dated Simon, 48, for six years before they split last year, is still helping the music man manage his busy career and life.

Terri said, “Looking after Simon’s a full-time job when you go out with him – and I’m still doing it now! I’m still overseeing and finalising his new house, I’ve project-managed it all, right down to the furniture.

“There’s no way he’ll remember what furniture will be arriving because we ordered it four years ago!”

The couple split in September 2008 after rumours that he had been cheating and wouldn’t settle down with Terri.

Max Clifford, Cowell’s rep, insisted that the split was amicable. He said, “Terri phoned Simon and finished it in the September.

“They are going to remain close friends. Simon thinks the world of Terri and that isn’t going to change. He also understands her reason for ending it.”

Terrie, 34, in her interview with Britain’s Closer magazine, insists that she still sees and speaks to Simon as much as they did when they were a couple.

“Simon and I speak six times a day, and I see him all the time. We’re happy as we are. We still see each other as much as when we were together.

“We didn’t end on bad terms, so why would you want somebody out of your life just because you’re not seeing them?”

However, Terri admitted she was always aware that Simon and her wanted different things and was surprised they lasted so long.

“From the beginning I knew he never wanted to get married and have kids. I’ve never been one of those people who dreamt of getting married, although I’d love to have a baby.

“I probably feel this way because my mum raised me as a single parent. Having a child with someone means more than having a marriage certificate. My clock’s not ticking yet – although I’d like to have a child before I turn 40.”

The speculation about Dannii Minogue’s X Factor future appears to be over, as since the end of the last series it has been speculated that she may be getting kicked off the show, but fellow judge on the show Simon Cowell has said she will remain on the show and, in addition, her reported £500,000-a-series pay packet will be doubled. This will bring her wage in line with fellow judge Cheryl Cole’s seven-figure contract.

From the first time Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole became a hit on the ITV show, rumours started circulating about a possible replacement for Kylie’s little sister. The likes of Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, Posh Spice and Lily Allen were thrown into the mix.

However, The Mirror quotes Simon Cowell as saying: “As far as the judging panel is concerned, let’s just say that if I was a betting man my money would be on Dannii returning to the show. She was great last year and I am adamant she should be there for the next series. Despite all the fuss concerning Dannii and Cheryl, I think the four judges worked really well together and gelled. There was an excellent chemistry. There’s been a lot of rubbish written about just who will be on the show, with people like Victoria Beckham supposedly in the frame. That was absolute nonsense – I never approached her.”

So this is the final news confirmed and it is good news for Dannii who is said to be excited and eager to sign on the dotted line, lets just hope she has better relations with the panel in the forthcoming series, as last year she publicly fell out with fellow judge Louis Walsh, who famously made her cry live on air, and Sharon Osbourne spoke about Dannii in a recent television interview saying she was the reason she left X Factor and she couldn’t stand her: “She had no personality and acted like a silly innocent girl, it got on my nerves and i couldn’t see myself working with her for the next six months” were Sharon’s opinions on Dannii during the interview. 

Leona Lewis reportedly plans to shun the Brit Awards after she failed to get any major nominations, last year Leona had four nominations at the Brit Awards but she left empty handed last year after winning none of the awards. 

The former X factor winner flew in to Britain from America with boyfriend Lou Al-Charma at the weekend and was expected at the Brits. But according to The Daily Mirror she has now pulled out of attending the awards bash at London’s Earls Court on Wednesday night, a source close to Leona said”

“Leona is making a stand and is not going. She’s more likely to be curled up on the sofa with her boyfriend Lou in Hackney than to be getting glammed up for the Brits. She may even jet out somewhere on holiday.”

“Her view is, ‘What’s the point of getting her glad-rags on if the chances of being recognised on her own soil are slim to none’?”

Leona is only nominated for Best British Single, for Better In Time, which is decided by a public vote, unlike all the other awards which are voted for by music industry experts.

This year its Leona’s turn to snub the Brit’s. seeing at the Brit’s snubbed her last year, and Simon Cowell spoke out about this saying: “I don’t like The Brits. Leona at The Brits tells you everything about the record business. You should recognise and celebrate success, not sneer at it, wherever the artist comes from.” After it was reportedly that Leona was looked down on as an X Factor ‘reality show’ winner.

Cheryl Cole has been told to put on weight for her charity climb up Mount Kilimanjaro, Cheryl’s weight has been a much spoken about in magazines and in the news for the past year or so, looking very fragile at the end of last year. 

The fragile Girls Aloud singer has been told to “bulk up” before she climbs the mountain in Tanzania in aid of Comic Relief, and Cheryl has taken this advice into account and has been upping her intake of carbs to prepare for the climb.

A source close to the star said: “She’s not too skinny to do the trek any more – she’s put on weight and has been putting her heart and soul into the training. She’s been working hard with Ashley’s instructor practically every day.”

Cheryl, who plans to climb the 5,981m mountain at the end of this month, is said to be taking the trip very seriously.

The source continued: “She’s been eating more and making a big effort to eat. They will be burning lots of calories over the course of the trek and it’s estimated they will all lose half a stone to 10lbs, so she will more than likely lose the weight she’s put on anyway!

“They’ve all been told to bring their favourite sugary snack, and apparently Cheryl has chosen chocolate buttons. They’ve all been told to increase their carb intake the week before, so Cheryl will be eating loads of potatoes and bread, which she’s not used to.”

Cheryl is not the only star that is taking part in the climb, and stars that will be joining her are her bandmate Kimberley Walsh, Denise Van Outen, Alesha Dixon, Fearne Cotton, Gary Barlow, Ronan Keating, Chris Moyles and Ben Shephard.

Sharon Osbourne  spoke out in a recent interview about being a judge on the TV show X Factor and said she quit as a judge on the programme because of Dannii Minogue. The 56-year-old left the ITV1 show in June after four series saying it was “time to move on”, and reports suggested clashes with fellow panellist Dannii were also behind her decision.

Sharon has recently spoken out and said: “I left because of Dannii Minogue. Simple as that. I didn’t enjoy working with her at all and didn’t fancy the prospect of spending six months sitting next to her.”

Sharon, who was replaced on the TV talent show by Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, rejected the suggestion that her fall-out with Dannii came about because she was jealous of the younger woman’s looks.

“I’ve not built my career on my looks or my youth,” was Sharon’s response to these claims. 

Sharon Osbourne first found fame with rocker hubby Ozzy and their children Kelly and Jack on reality show The Osbournes and as been in the eye of the media ever since for her abrupt, self-opinionated comments – she certainly doesn’t hold back on her words!

In an recent interview, famous music mogul and x factor judge Simon Cowell revealed a secret fantasy… When Simon was asked for the name of the person he would kiss if it could be anyone in the world, he picked his fellow X Factor judge Cheryl Cole.

At first Simon laughed at the question and responded by saying: “That’s quite a scary question, I’m going to get into so much trouble after this, I want a disclaimer here first of all that I’m going to say this person as if they weren’t married. It’s fantasy. So I’m going to say Cheryl Cole. Who wouldn’t? This is just pretend, right?”

Simon Cowell recently split from long-time girlfriend Terri Seymour and has said he has no plans to ever take that walk down the aisle, he is quite happy single and intends for it to stay that way for a long time now. “I am quite happy single. I am friends with all my exes and I enjoy their company.”

But straight from the horses mouth, Simon said he would definitely like to give Cheryl a smooch… that will explain all those up close and personal cuddles throughout last years X factor then!

Alexandra Burke hated the song Hallelujah when she first heard it and feared it could lose her the competition. When Alexandra first tried to sing ‘Hallelujah’ she stormed out of the studio in frustration when trying sing it to her mentor, show judge Cheryl Cole.

Alexandra said: “When Hallelujah got picked I was gutted. I thought I had lost there and then. I wanted to leave the show. I didn’t know the song before and it just didn’t do anything for me. It left me cold. I could not see a way to put my twist on it.”

Despite her initial reservations, Alexandra – crowned X Factor champion of 2008 –  has seen her soulful version of the Leonard Cohen song become the fastest-selling download ever. Alex added: “Now I realise what a smart choice of song Simon Cowell made by picking Hallelujah.

Alexandra has a simple and sweet view of what it means – the quest for true love. She said, “When I sing it I’m thinking about a girl who is in love with a boy and is trying to get them to notice her.”

Alex insists she is single and denies amy romance with Marvin Humes, 23, from X Factor runners-up JLS. She also laughs off reports that Gavin And Stacey star James Corden has bought her a £4,000 watch. She joked: “Show me the watch! Do you see it? There is no watch.”
