Big Brother housemate rows are already piling up on ITV2

Big Brother housemate rows

The Big Brother housemate rows are coming thick and fast this season, and the series is only three days old. Multiple clashes are set to play out in tonight’s episode on ITV2, with viewers already declaring this the most dramatic run of the show’s current era.

Rochelle’s comments leave Charlotte stunned

The moment that has drawn the strongest reaction involves Rochelle and Charlotte. Charlotte, who lost both her hands and feet after contracting meningitis at the age of three, is left visibly stunned when Rochelle admits to having a ‘fear’ of people with ‘no arms’.

‘I feel really ashamed, but I have got a bit of a fear… of [people with] no arms,’ Rochelle tells Charlotte. ‘When I saw you, I was like “oh my God”, and I feel so ashamed. Now I don’t even look at it.’

Charlotte later shares the conversation with several other housemates. Chelsey’s verdict is blunt: Rochelle needed to ‘learn to shut her mouth’. Rhianna offers to have a word with Rochelle directly, though whether she follows through remains to be seen in tonight’s broadcast.

Big Brother housemate rows spread across the house

Rochelle’s comments are not the only source of friction. Johanne, who was already involved in a clash with Rochelle in Tuesday’s episode, finds herself in a fresh argument, this time with Yasmin. The dispute earns Johanne a summons to the diary room by Big Brother itself.

Elsewhere, a spat breaks out between Philip and Yasmin, after Yasmin accuses him of being ‘rude’ while she is trying to sleep. Philip’s response is to quip that it is about ‘eight o’clock’ and that he has no plans to turn in early.

A clip previewing the Big Brother housemate rows was released on Instagram ahead of tonight’s episode, giving viewers an early look at the escalating tensions inside the house.

Fans are loving the drama (with one exception)

Viewer reaction to the general chaos has been largely enthusiastic. The Rochelle and Charlotte moment has attracted more discomfort, but the broader run of arguments has been embraced warmly by an audience that felt previous seasons lacked edge.

‘ITV sure did pick on the basis of clash factor this year lol love it!’ wrote one viewer. Another admitted: ‘I can’t cope with this series. Drama, drama, drama!’

A third fan was even more effusive: ‘God, I love this series already! Finally ITV have cracked it! Every other series has been saturated and dull! This is proper telly.’ A fourth simply called the house ‘chaotic’, which, at this rate, is hard to argue with.

The enthusiasm reflects a wider sense that the 23rd season of Big Brother has arrived with a different energy from its recent predecessors. With housemates barely 72 hours in and Big Brother housemate rows already stacking up across multiple pairings, the rest of the run promises to keep viewers occupied.

This is the show’s ITV era, and if the early days are anything to go by, the production team has assembled a cast built for friction. Whether that friction stays entertaining or tips into something thornier will likely depend on how the housemates navigate the days and weeks ahead.

Big Brother airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX. Tonight’s episode, featuring all of the above clashes, airs as part of the show’s ongoing run in the 23rd season.
