Home and Away spoilers September: 11 key moments for the week of 14–18

Home and Away spoilers September

The Home and Away spoilers for September (14 to 18) bring one of the Bay’s bigger farewell weeks in recent memory, with Harper, Dana and little Archie all heading off to a new life, Eden facing a medical crisis, and David taking a quietly enormous step forward with Amelia. Here is everything you need to know.

Harper’s exit: three years in the Bay comes to an end

The week’s most emotional thread belongs to Harper, Dana and Archie. According to TV Week, Harper Matheson has spent three years in Summer Bay before her departure, making the goodbye all the weightier. Now to Love reports that Jessica Redmayne, who plays Harper, has made an abrupt exit from the show, so viewers heading into this week already know there will be no last-minute change of heart.

The storyline plays out with Dana calling time on her relationship with Sonny and moving out. She rings Harper to share the news, only to discover that her sister is already planning to leave the Bay with Archie. Dana makes the decision to join them, breaks the news to Sonny and John, and the trio share a bittersweet goodbye before departing together.

Tane, for his part, is not taking any of it lying down. He storms over to Sonny’s house looking for a confrontation over Harper and Archie’s exit, and the pair nearly come to blows before Remi steps in. Sonny fears he has permanently damaged his standing in the community, but gets a lift when David confirms the charges against him have been dropped. Even so, Tane refuses to accept his apologies, which, if anything, makes Sonny more determined to turn things around.

Home and Away spoilers September: Eden’s stem cell crisis and David’s quiet turning point

Eden learns that her best chance of recovery is a stem cell transplant, with siblings offering the most likely route to a suitable match. Cash calls in Abigail and Eden, but the news is not good. Abigail is told she cannot donate because she was an IV drug user within the last five years, and Eden quickly realises Levi will not be eligible either, as he will still be recovering from major surgery.

Levi, however, refuses to accept that verdict. He is desperate to be Eden’s donor and, after some serious reflection, Eden accepts she cannot stop her brother from trying to help. Levi undergoes a blood test to find out whether he is a match, while Mali stays close to Abigail, who is heartbroken at being unable to help.

David’s story moves more quietly but no less meaningfully. He and Amelia share their first kiss, though he pulls away and walks off, leaving her confused. Wracked with guilt, he later seeks Amelia out and explains that he still carries feelings for his late wife. Amelia tells him there is no pressure, and Justin offers his support when David admits he feels as though he has been unfaithful.

Lacey, watching her father edge closer to someone new, is struggling. Mali helps her work through the idea that David deserves some happiness, but Lacey’s acceptance does not come easily. She confronts Amelia directly, demanding to know what happened on their date, and Amelia snaps back, telling her to mind her own business. Later, in private, David removes his wedding ring for the first time since his wife’s passing. When Lacey sees it gone, she takes her hurt out on Amelia. Mali tells David what happened, and this time David refuses to put others first: he makes clear he wants a future with Amelia.

Meanwhile, Alf is still reluctant to travel to Merimbula for Martha’s birthday, unwilling to leave Zane unsupervised around Marilyn. Justin smooths things over by promising to keep watch, and Alf eventually agrees to go, though not without warning Zane that he will turn straight back at the first sign of trouble. Zane, feeling the weight of the kindness being shown to him, takes Marilyn’s suggestion and writes an apology letter to Heidi, the woman he attacked during the robbery. Posting it, though, unsettles Leah: she tells Marilyn plainly that Zane did the wrong thing by reaching out to his victim, drawing on how she would feel if Theo’s murderer contacted her. The tension between doing the right thing and doing the kind thing sits at the heart of Zane’s arc all week.

Home and Away drops new episodes on weekdays at 6am on Channel 5‘s streaming service, with a 6.30pm screening on 5Star.
