Throughout October Brevio is turning pink to support breast cancer charities in their fight against the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide. Around 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK, and many of them turn to charities for vital support services. But more funding is crucially needed to help charities provide ongoing support to breast cancer patients, raise awareness, and undertake research. Breast cancer is the most common cancer for women in the UK, with 1 woman diagnosed every 10 minutes. Charities play an important role for breast cancer patients – whether it’s helping to provide easier access to care and treatments, counselling, accommodation, wigs or other services.
Research from Cancer Research UK also shows that 23% of these cases could be preventable. That’s almost 13,000 avoidable breast cancer diagnoses every year.
That’s why this October, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Brevio is turning pink to join the fight by teaming up with charities that provide patient support and raise awareness to promote early detection. Brevio will be working with a number of charities that provide innovative support to people with breast cancer, by showcasing their funding needs in the hope of helping them secure vital grants.
During #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth Brevio’s campaign #BrevioGoesPink will share stories from women across the UK who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, and from the charities who have supported them. The campaign will promote the vital work of breast cancer charities to funders all across the UK. Brevio is a tool that automates grant research and the initial steps in grant application management by matching non-profits with funders. This helps to free up hundreds of millions of pounds lost to administration every year. Brevio’s dataset currently covers more than 3000 funders with more than £3 billion in available grants, and more than 2000 charities.
