You may not have Rhino Trade Insurance, so you may not be able to afford to take yourself to the doctor. Your body needs to recover, and with these tips, you will know how. Here is everything you need to know about caring for your body while working a physically demanding job.

Understand industrial ergonomics

When you understand good workplace ergonomics, you will have a better understanding of what to improve in your workplace that will minimize the physical damage to your body. Ergonomics deals with your posture, the way you move and any physical exertion as it all relates to the work demands. Take the time to understand the ergonomics of your industry.

Protect yourself at work

You should always protect yourself at work by wearing your personal protective equipment. This may seem like an obvious tip, but it can be easy to overlook. You should always wear your PPE. Manual labor can sometimes be very unpredictable. Things may fall or randomly scratch. You should wear your hearing protection, eye protection, helmet, respirator, safety gloves and comfortable work shoes. Wearing this stuff can protect you from anything that you may come across while out on a day on the job.

Protect your back

When you are working in a job that is physically demanding, your body will feel it particularly your back and your core. Knowing your back safety can improve your chances of keeping your back safe. Typically when your back goes out, it is not because of one bad lift. It is because of multiple bad lifts over time. You may experience things like lower back pain, middle back pain, and pain along the back of your thigh just to name a few.

Get regular massages

Getting a professional massage on a regular basis can rectify your muscles from the pain they experience throughout the workweek. It may seem like a splurge, but there are some serious health benefits to getting massages. A properly trained masseuse will know exactly what to do to confront the back tissues, stimulate the muscle tissue and can loosen knots. It also helps with relaxation, helping to reduce stress.

Keep skin moisturised

Most of your jobs might be outside. Keep your skin moisturized. Inclement weather can play a huge role in your skin. Constantly gripping things even with your work gloves on can still create callouses. As soon as you get out of the shower, make sure that you moisturize your skin. You may need to use a body cream or body oil. For your hands and feet, you might need something a little more intense since those areas of the body are typically the driest areas.
