After discussing our favourite expensive beauty products that we think are worth the money, we thought we’d go back and share our favourite affordable makeup brands that provide great beauty products if you’re on a tight budget.
Lipsticks, foundations and mascaras don’t have to cost the world – in fact, some of the cheapest products around are great competitors to the high-end ones!
Here are 5 affordable makeup brands that can help you get great beauty products without paying a bomb:
Makeup Revolution
Ever since Makeup Revolution was launched a few years ago, their products have continued to surprise me – I mean, who wouldn’t want a 32-shade eye shadow palette for under a tenner?
Although M.R tend to be really obvious dupes of expensive products, I doubt that the different between the ‘real’ and the ‘cheap’ would be that obvious.
Take their I Heart Highlighters for example; they’re almost identical to the Too Faced Sweetheart blushes yet save you a massive £19.
Sleek Makeup
Whenever somebody asks for my advice on a budget-friendly, cheap and cheerful eye shadow palette that actually does the job well, I always point them to Sleek.
Unlike classic inexpensive eye shadow palettes, Sleek offer a number of different shades that are out of ‘the norm’. Yes, you have your classic warm brown shades compact in a pretty natural palette, but there’s also the option to go all-out with their Ultra Mattes Bright palette.
With sets available from as little as £7.99, the 12 shadows each equate to just over 66p each – a bargain if I ever did see one!
NYX
NYX are a brand that have only recently come onto my radar thanks to their launch in Boots (yay!), but I can’t seem to get enough of them.
The recent launch of their Lingerie liquid lipsticks cost a mere £6.50 and promise long-lasting matte lips; they actually remind me of Kylie Jenner’s cosmetic range but at a fraction of the price!
Other notable products include their Highlight and Contour palettes and Pore Filler Primers.
Collection
Collection’s Lasting Perfection Concealer has been my go-to concealer for over 5 years now and after trying many different ones (both expensive and cheap!), I always find myself coming back to it.
The thick consistency of it covers my blemishes and red areas like a dream without it looking cakey, and costs just £4.19.
I’m also a huge fan of their nail polish range, with cheap nail polish remover and a huge selection of colours that suit every occasion.
Barry M
Speaking of nail polishes, Barry M provide some of the best quality ones around. The best part? They’re some of the most affordable makeup products in this list!
Ever since my 10 year old nail polished-obsessed self bought the first product, I’ve been hooked. More recently their Speedy range has been the only one that I trust to get my nails looking somewhat decent whilst in a rush, and their range of colours is unbeatable.
