How much are you looking forward to a night out with your friends once restrictions lift? Right?!
So many people are already planning their post-COVID blowout. Think dancing, partying, drinking and laughing with the best people, wearing the best heels and being close together in sweaty clubs where you’re all having the best fun. Whether your preferred location is a nightclub with friends, or you want to go out for a meal, you need to know how to be safe when you are out on the town.
You want to ensure that your night out is memorable for all of the right reasons, and we’ve got the tips that you need to ensure that you are staying safe on your next post-COVID night out. After all of this time, you deserve to kick back and enjoy your night with friends, and we’ve got some suggestions for you below.
Don’t go alone
Whether it’s meeting at a venue or leaving to go home, buddy up and go with someone you know. This will be everything to you when you need to get in a taxi at the end of the night or you are heading onto the bus. Strength in numbers, and your friends should want to ensure that you are absolutely fine! Staying in a group – whether all girls or a mix of men and women – is going to ensure that you are safer than if you were alone.
Drink responsibly
Getting out of your mind on alcohol is not the smartest thing to do – even if you are in a group. You won’t be able to keep an eye on your drink as well as if you were sober, and even if you’re tipsy and you go home with someone you meet, you may not be sober enough to remember to use protection. Sure, there’s the option of the emergency contraception pill, but that doesn’t mean that you should be drunk and rolling into bed with someone. Keep an eye on your drink and make sure that you keep your wits about you while you’re dancing with your friends. You should be able to enjoy yourself without forgetting how to act in public!
Plan hour route home
Before you even head out on your evening with friends, plan out how you are going to get home at the end of the night. You will do better knowing whether you are getting a lift or a taxi with friends, and you’ll enjoy the night that much more when you are going to be home safely at the end of the night.
Only take what you need
A decent bag that you won’t lose during the night should hold your wallet and your phone as well as your keys and any protective measures such as mace. You need to ensure that you aren’t putting things in your pockets and there is every chance that your outfit is not going to have pockets at all! Bring with you what you need for your night out and no more so that you can protect your valuables.
